Howdy Mother's Day 2023

After Lloyd was finally convicted for murdering someone else, it was time to get back into the arena and go to work. Lloyd's sentencing dredged up a lot of feelings and memories. 

It's easy to assume people are lazy if they don't follow our demands when we're mentoring or training them. It's easy to judge without knowing the backstory or history. It's cheap and easy to be condescending when someone doesn't meet our expectations. Through my experience, I've learned to have more grace, patience, and curiosity when people are not meeting my standards of perfect.

As a recovering perfectionist, breaking that habit that creates a toxic expectation of others, this takes work every single day and the horses have helped me realize that every soul has different experiences, challenges, dreams, goals, and needs. Through horses I'm learning how to be more patient with the souls under my charge.
